Electrospun BiFeO <sub>3</sub> Nanofibers for Vibrational Energy Harvesting Application

Bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3, BFO) has found application in a wide range of fields owing to its fascinating multiferroic properties. Herein, the interplay between piezoelectric properties and morphology BFO nanostructures is exploited for vibrational energy harvesting by tailoring high aspect ratio surface area nanofiber morphology. This work demonstrates facile pathway fabrication high-performance flexible nanogenerators, based on nanofibers, from cost-effective energy-efficient electrospinning technique. The X-ray diffraction data calcined fibers confirm formation noncentrosymmetric crystalline perovskite phase. morphological characterization scanning electron microscopy shows compact anisotropic nanofibrous For nanofibers are embedded piezoactive polymer matrix (polyvinylidenfluoride [PVDF]). As-fabricated BFO/PVDF composite nanogenerators produce peak-to-peak voltage output 7.6 V, with an average power density 185 ± 106 nW cm−2 upon periodic force through finger knocking.
